Determination of NAG and FDP in patients with lupus nephritis
Objective:To determine urinary N-acetyl-beta-d-glucosaminidase (NAG) and products of fibrin degradation (FDP) in patients with lupus nephritis and to discuss its significance. Methods:We measured the levels of urinary NAG
FDP in 36 cases of patients with lupus nephritis and 20 cases in the control group using auto-biochemical-analyzer
colorimetry and latex coagulation test. Results:The levels of urinary NAG
FDP in patients with lupus nephritis with normal renal function were significantly higher than those in the control group. The levels of urinary NAG
FDP in patients with lupus nephritis with abnormal renal function were significantly higher than those normal ones. The levels of urinary NAG with lupus nephritis were significantly higher than those with negative FDP in the urine. Conclusion:The change of urinary NAG in the lupus nephritis patients suggests that the damage in renal tubular interstitum has taken place in LN patients when they are on the renal sufficiency stage. With the development of the coagulation in the glomeruli
the degree of renal tubular interstitum damage in LN also increases.
