Comparison and analysis of the clinical effects of the three filling material for curing wedge-shaped defect
Objective:To compare and investigate the effects of the three types of materials--silver amalgam
durafill and glass ionomer cement used to cure wedge-shaped defect.Methods:194 teeth with wedge-shaped defects were filled with three types of material.3-year results were evaluated with certain criterion-failure rate. Results:Silver amalgam’s failure rate was 21.9%
durafill 17.9% and ionomer cement 15.4%.There is no statistically significant difference among three types of material( χ 2 -test
P >0.05).To the degree of patients’ satisfaction
there is statistically significant difference among three types of material( χ 2 -test
P <0.05).Conclusion:There is high failure rate to fill wedge-shaped defect with three types of material. But there is no statistically significant difference among three types of materials. On the part of patients’ satisfaction
durafill and ionomer cement is superior to silver amalgam.
