Study on the long-term clearance rate of HBeAg and HBsAg of chronic hepatitis B
Objective: To investigate the long-term clearance rate of HBeAg and HBsAg in chronic hepatitis B to evaluate its long-term outcome
and the antiviral drug efficacy. Methods: 120(mean age 31.53±7.52
male/female 96/24) cases of biopsy-proven chronic hepatitis B were followed up.The follow-up time was 11.77±3.75 years. The study focused on long-term clearance rate of HBeAg and HBsAg. Results: The clearance rate of HBeAg and HBsAg were 96.34% and 14.17%
respectively.Ara-A
LAK cell and interferon were of benefit to clear up HBeAg.Sustained normal serum aspartate aminotransferase level was of benefit to clear HBsAg
but the long-term clearance rate of HBeAg and HBsAg were not statistically different compared to those without antiviral therapy by χ 2 analysis. Conclusion: The long-term natural clearance rate of HBeAg in chronic hepatitis B is high
