Objective: To explore the ideal radiation therapeutic fractionation regimen and total dose in non-tumor benign disease. Methods: 37 patients with non-tumor benign disease were administered with radiotherapy in our department between September
1996 and March
2000. According to the different time-dose fractionation regimen and total dose
we compared their different 1-year therapeutic response rate respectively. Results: The total 1-year therapeutic response rate was 83.8%. The low fractionation regimen group and small dose fractionation regimen group were respectively 88.2% and 77.7%. The high dose group was 92% and the low dose group was 75%. Conclusion: Radiation therapy is an effective measure of non-tumor benign disease
and there is a trend that the efficacy of the low fractionation regimen group and relatively high dose group are respectively more superior than that of the small dose fractionation regimen group and relatively low dose group.
