Incidental renal cell carcinoma (report of 96 cases)
Objective : To evaluate the prognosis and treatment of incidental renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Methods :136 cases of renal cell carcinoma of our hospital between January 1989 to January 1999 were analyzed
especially those 43 cases of incidental RCC. Results : Compared with the non - incidental RCC
the pathological stage of most incidental RCC is lower. The five - year cancer - specific survival rate in patients with incidental RCC(71.43%) is higher than non-incidental RCC(41.30%)(P<0. 05). Conclusion :Ultrasound is the most practical and effective method in health screening. Radical nephrectomy proves to be safe and effective. Early di agnosis and treatment of RCC result in better prognosis.
