Experimental study of the effect of murine submandibular gland conditioned media on hematopoietic stem cell and bone marrow cell proliferation
By using such techniques as spleen colony formation and flow-cytometry
the effects of murine submandibular gland conditioned media (SGCM) on the proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells (CFU-S) and bone marrow cells (BMC) in mice was studied. The results indicated that the proliferation and polarization of murine hematopoietic stem cell(CFU-S) is significantly stimulated by normal male or female SGCM(SGCM
SGCM). SGCM can markedly promote the entrance of BMC into the active proliferative phase and increase the numbers of BMC. The relationship between the submandibular glands and hematopoiesis may be that SGCM secretes hematopoietic growth factors.
