Investigation of nosocomial infection caused by Acinetobacter baumanii
To investigate epidemic of Acinetobacter baumanii in nosocomial infection
a retyospective study was donefor analysing the distribution and drug resistance of 45 strains of Acinetobacter baumanii isolated from ourhospital in 1998. The distribution results showed that the 45 strains were widely found in many departments ofthe hospital
and 27 strains were detected from ICU
accounting for 60% of the total. 84.4% strains were isolatedfrom the lower respiratory tractThe drug resistant results showed that the strains were highly resistant toCefalotine and Cotrimoxazole
and had a lower resistance rate to p-Lactams/ezymase inhibitor
Generation 3Cefalosorine
Aminoglycoside. Especially there existed rare strains resistant to Imipenem. These anibiotics can beused to treat the Acinetobacter baumanii infection. Our reseach suggests that Acinetobacter baumanii is animportant oppotunistic pathogenic bacteria which can lead the outbreak in ICU patients
so it should behighlighted in nosocomial infection.
