Glycogen assay for diagnosis of female genital Chlamydia trachomatis infection
Glycogen assay was used to diagnose female genital Chlamydia trachomatis infection.Glycogen content of female genital epithelial cells was detected by anthrone and the resuits were compared with PCR 320 cervical samples were examined and the sensitivity and specificity of glycogen assay were 84.8% and 96.5% respectively. Glycogen assay is a quick
convenient and simple method to diagnose Chlamydia trachomatis infection and suitable to be applied to basic medical units.
