Endoscopic duodenal biopses taken from 18 patients with psoriasis and 18 controls
and survey of duodenal mucosal morphology
lactase
sucrase and alkaline phosphatase
together with the results of lactose tolerance test have been studied. The results showed among the 18 patients with psoriasis
duodenal mucosal morphology was normal in 6
mild duodenitis in 5
moderate duodenitis in 5 and section unsatisfied in 2; in control group
9 cases showed normal morphology
mild duodenitis in 1
moderate duodenitis in 5
and section unsatisfied in 3
The lactase and sucrase levels in psoriatics were 0.655±0.632u/g protein and 94.261±137.713u/g protein respectively
and the corresponding figures in the control group was 0.802 ±0.713u/g protein and 944.916 ± 117.366u/g protein; the differences were not statistically significant (P>0.05) . The alkaline phosphatase in the group of psoriatics was 199.366 ± 111.434u/g protein which was much lower than that in the control group 350.3±239u/g protein (p<0.05). In the lactose tolerance test
16 cases showed intolerance in the group of psoriatics and 15 cases intolerated in the control group
