SECTIONAL STUDY OF THE ANTERIOR PLEURAL REFLECTION LINE IN THE ADULT
30 adult cadavers were used for making serial horizontal sections (male 15
female 15). The origin

location of the anterior pleural reflection line and the corresponding relationship between left and right pleura were observed on the levels (undersurface) of the sternoclavicular joint

fifth and sixth costal cartilages. From the results of our observation; the anterior reflection line of the left and right pleura are not symmetric. 1) The biggest interval lies (7.35±0.69cm) behind the sternoclavicular joints. 2) The nearest distance to median Hns line behind the third costal cartilage of the right (0.50±0.62cm). 3) The separating type is 67.00%. 4) The nearing type 29.67%. 5) The contacting type 3.33 ± 0.33%. 6) The overlapping type 13.33 ± 0.69%. 7) behind the level of third costal cartilage
the distance from the anterior reflection lines of pleura to the surface of the body is the shortest (2.03 ± 0.98cm).The aim of this article is to accumulate normal data of the Chinese adults and to provide the anatomical basis for ultrasonic and CT examinations. Finally
the clinical significance was discussed and the data of our observation have been compared with others
