A COHORT STUDY ON TRANSFUSION TRANSMITTED HEPATITIS B VIRUS INFECTION
The infection by hepatitis B virus (HBV) after transfusion was investigated in 150 hospitalized patitents with 6 months follow-up study by using spRIA. The results showed that the infection rate by HBV in blood recipients was 29.33% using RPHA for the detection of HBsAg in the blood donors. Using spRIA to detect HBsAg and anti-HBc(titer> = l:100) for the blood donons
the infection rate could be reduced singnificantly
but the infection rate(11.72%) was still higher than that of healthly control persons (4.67%). These results suggested that not only the more sensitive method should be used to screen HBV markers in blood donors
but also more attention should be paid to the hospital-acquired infection of HBV
