EVALUATION OF LEFT VENTRICULAR FUNCTION IN PRIMARY HYPERTENSION AND AFTER ANTIHYPERTENSIVE THERAPY ——A D6UBLE BLINDED STUDY BY ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY
The changes of cardiac structure and left ventricular function in 78 patients with primary hypertension in staga I. Ⅱ were studied by echocadiography. It has been found that the systolic function of left ventricle was normal
but the diastolic function was impaired. Almost all the patieats have symmetrically hypertrophic ventricular septum and left ventricular posterior wall. The seasitivity of detecting cardiac hypertrophy with echoca rdiography is higher thaa X-ray and electrocardiogram. The changes of left ventricular diastolic function were compared in 40 patients who were treated with captopril
nifedipine
propranolol and hycrochlorothiazide orally. The results have shown that nifedipine is the best drug for decreasing blood pressure and improving left ventricular diastolic function
