DIAGNOSTIC VALUE OF FASTING SERUM CHOLYLGLYCINE ESTIMATED BY RIA IN 60 CASES OF CHOLESTASIS OF PREGNANCY
The values of fasting serum cholylglycine in 58 nonpregnant women
31 healthy pregnant women and 60 cases of intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy were estimated by RIA
and the results compared with that of conventional liver function tests. In all cases these analyses of the intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy showed abnormal SCG and SGPT values of 73.3% and 60%
respectively.However
our study showed that only the difference in. SCG was statistically more significant as compared with SGPT in cases pruritis and that accompanied by jaundice (p<0.01). Thus SCG appears superior to SGPT as a diagnostic test in cholestasis of pregnancy
