Abstract

The arterial arcades and straight arteries of jejunum and ileum in 50 cadavers were dissected

observed and measured. The arterial arcades at first tend to increase in number

but gradually decrease starting from the middle third of the jejuno-ileum.The straight arteries to the ileum were more numerous than those to the jejunum.Judging from the graduation of the number of arcades and the lengthes of the straight arteries

it seems to us that there is a transitional zone on the mesentery

which is mostly supplied by the ninth intestinal artery.
