Educational-level-rectified norms of memory and executive screening in Chongqing district
Objective:To discuss the use of memory and executive screening(MES)in Chongqing district and to rectify the norms according to educational levels for more effective clinical application. Methods :Healthy old people in Chongqing community from September of 2014 to December of 2015 were recruited for mini-mental state examination(MMSE). According to educational levels
participants were divided into three groups:MMSE scores higher than 17
primary school higher than 20 and junior high school higher than 24. Totally 358 subjects were recruited. The relevance between the score of MES and age
gender
the different educational levels were analyzed. The educational level-rectified norms of MES was calculated by taking mean MES score-1.5 s. Results:The different age groups and the different educational level groups had statistics differences in MES scores(P=0.000). The score of MES and each item had negative relevance with age
positive relevance with the educational levels except the item of fluency and no relevance with the gender. The cut-off scores of MES as mild cognitive impairment(MCI)in four different groups were 61
72
74 and 78 respectively. Conclusion:Rectified norms of MES may provide more accurate reference data for investigating MCI in Chongqing district populations with different educational levels.
