Comparison of two methods for local compression after removal of the needle in CT enhancement scan
Objective:To compare the efficacy of finger pressing method and cotton ball with adhesive plaster pressing method after removal of the needle in CT enhancement scan. Methods:Totally 1 465 patients with clear consciousness
correct expression
willingness to cooperate and normal coagulation function received the CT enhancement scan in our hospital in December 2016
and all were
punctured for the first time without leakage of the contrast agent. The patients were randomly allocated into experimental group(n=752)and control group(n=713). Patients received a cotton ball with adhesive plaster pressing method in experimental group and finger pressing method for local compression after removal of the needle in CT enhancement scan. Chi-square test was used to exam-ine the difference of patient satisfaction
pain degree
and bleeding associated complications. Results:Patients’ age
communication ability
cooperative degree
coagulation function
and difficulty degree of vascular puncture were comparable between the two groups.Compared with finger pressing method
cotton ball with adhesive plaster pressing method was associated with improved satisfaction rate(97.03% vs. 90.87
P=0.000)and decreased risks of complications
including incidence of moderate and above pain(8.37% vs.18.65%
χ
2
=33.348
P=0.000)
incidence of needle eye bleeding(0.93% vs. 2.67%
χ
2
=6.312
P=0.012)
incidence of hematoma(0.53% vs. 1.96%
χ
2
=6.181
P=0.013)
and incidence of subcutaneous hemorrhage(0.80% vs. 2.52%
χ
2
=6.772
P=0.009). Conclusion:The cotton ball pressure press method is more safe
effective
easy and better prevent compression complications and improve patient satisfaction than finger press method. So
