Progress of roles and mechanism of follicular helper T cells in chronic liver disease
Follicular helper T cells(Tfh)is recently defined as new subpopulations of CD4
+
lymphocytes
which is mainly engaged in lymphoid follicles. Tfh cell is the bridge of the interaction of T-B cells
which plays an important role in regulating B lymphocyte proliferation
differentiation of plasma cells and antibody class switching. The realization of the above functions are closely related to transcription factors(B-cell lymphoma 6)
cytokines(interleukin-21)
chemokine receptor(CXCR5)
costimulatory molecules(ICOS and CD40L)and co-inhibitory molecular(PD-1). Studies of recent years discovered that the functional disturbances of Tfh plays an important role in autoimmunity diseases
infection and immune deficiency diseases. The biological characteristics of Tfh and the role of Tfh in the chronic liver disease were described in this review.
