Analysis on clinical characteristics of different outcomes with Epstein-Barr virus infection in 29 adult patients
Objectives:To analyze and compare clinical characteristics of different outcomes with Epstein-Barr virus infection in adult without underlying disease. Methods:Clinical data
laboratory test
diagnosis and treatments of adult patients with Epstein-Barr virus infection in our hospital from December 2014 to June 2016 were retrospectively analyzed. Results:The common clinical manifestations were 26 cases of fever
18 cases of pharyngalgia
22 cases of lymphadenectasis
15 cases of amygdalitis
12 cases of hepatosplenomegaly
14 cases of white blood cell increase
19 cases of glutamic-pyruvic transaminase increase
etc. The main features of patients with good prognosis were pharyngalgia and amygdalitis(P =0.004)
and younger age(P =0.001). The main features of patients with poor prognosis were red blood cell(P=0.000)and hemoglobin decrease(P=0.001). The common clinical complication was liver dysfunction in Epstein-Barr infection disease. There were differences in age between combined liver dysfunction and non-combined liver dysfunction disease. Conclusion:In adult patients of Epstein-Barr virus infection without underlying disease
good prognosis is likely to occur in younger people with characteristics of pharyngalgia and amygdalitis while poor prognosis is likely to occur in middle or old aged people with features of red blood cell and hemoglobin decrease.
