Relationship between TGF-β1 expression and the prognostic of intrauterine adhesion and uterine septum after hysteroscopic surgery
Objective:To investigate the relationship between transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)expression in endometrium tissue of patients and the prognostic of intrauterine adhesions(IUA)and uterine septum after hysteroscopic surgery. Methods:Totally 96 cases of IUA and uterine septum diagnosed by hysteroscopy in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi’an Jiaotong University from June2014 to May 2015
including 48 cases of intrauterine adhesion and 48 cases of uterine septum. Data on the expression of TGF-β1 in the endometrium tissue three weeks after hysteroscopic surgery were detected by SP immunohischemistry staining. Those cases were divided into the good prognosis group
the acceptable prognosis group and the poor prognosis group depending on NASR score three month after hysteroscopic surgery. Relationship between the expression of TGF-β1 in the different groups were analyzed by chi-square test and ANOVA. Results:The prognosis of uterine septum surgery was superior to that of intrauterine adhesion three month after hysteroscopic surgery
with significant differences(χ

=13.714
P=0.000). For IUA
the expression of TGF-β1 in poor prognosis group(n=16
2.94±0.70)was much higher than that of acceptable prognosis group(n=20
1.65±0.76)and good prognosis group(n=12
1.08±0.79)
with significant differences(P=0.000
P=0.000). The expression of TGF-β1 in acceptable prognosis group was higher than that of good prognosis group
with significant differences(P=0.045). For uterine septum
the expression of TGF-β1 in poor prognosis group(n=6
2.58±0.97)was much higher than that of acceptable prognosis group(n=12
1.25±0.54)and good prognosis group(n=30
0.78±0.55)
with significant differences(P=0.000
P=0.000). The expression of TGF-β1 in acceptable prognosis group was higher than that of good prognosis group
with significant differences(P=0.030). Conclusion:Aberrant expression of TGF-β1 in the endometrium tissue may have relationship with the different prognosis in IUA and uterine septum after hysteroscopic surgery
and overexpression of TGF-β1 in the endometrium tissue after hysteroscopic surgery may have relationship with its poor prognosis.
