Roles of exosomes in the communication of central nervous system cells
The function of central nervous system(CNS)relies on intercellular communication between neural cells. Recent studies have shown these cells release nanovesicles called exosomes
generally 40 to 100 nm in diameter. They contain proteins
RNAs and lipids. The biological effects and cargos of exosomes can be various depending on the types and conditions of cells. Exosomes can mediate intercellular signaling without requiring direct contact between cells. The development of CNS
integrity of neuron function involve in the bioactive molecules that packed into exosomes. Here the properties of exosomes and the roles of exosomes in cell-to-cell communication of CNS are discussed.
