Association between norepinephrine transporter T182C polymorphism and depression:a Meta-analysis
Objective:To explore the association between norepinephrine transporter(NET)T182C polymorphism and depression by carrying out a meta-analysis based on published articles. Methods:Databases including Pub Med
Embase
Wan Fang(Chinese)
CNKI and CQVIP were searched for literature about norepinephrine transporter T182 C polymorphism and depression
and the data were analyzed by using STATA 12.0. OR
95% CI and P value were employed as the evaluation index to assess the association between T182 C polymorphism and risk of depression under four different genetic models. Results:Twelve studies of 3 056 cases and 2 861 controls meeting the inclusion criteria were enrolled in the Meta-analysis that. Significant association was observed between NET T182 C polymorphism and depression under allelotype model(OR=1.15
95%CI=1.04 to 1.28
P=0.009)
co-dominant model(OR=1.41
95%CI=1.04 to 1.90
P=0.026)
recessive model(OR=1.44
95%CI=1.13 to 1.85
P=0.004);allele C or genotype CC increased the risk of depression. The sub-group analysis showed that employing the different evaluation scales for depression mainly resulted in the heterogeneity. Conclusion:NET T182 C polymorphism is related to the depression
and allele C may contribute to the risk of major depressive disorder.
