Efficacy of fibrin glue in total knee arthroplasty:a Meta-analysis
Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of fibrin glue in total knee arthroplasty(TKA). Methods:Studies were searched from Pub Med
Embase
Cochrane Library
CNKI
CBM
Wanfang digital journals and other internet databases. Two independent reviewers searched and assessed high-quality RCTs. The relevant data were analyzed using Rev Man 5.2 software. Results:Eleven studies including a total of 973 patients were included in the analysis. Compared with those in the control group
fibrin glue achieved a decrease in drain volume(MD=-227.36
95%CI=-359.47 to-95.25
P=0.001)
hemoglobin reduction(MD=-0.63
95%CI=-0.79 to-0.46
P=0.000)
transfusion rate(OR=0.44
95%CI=0.31 to 0.61
P=0.000)
total blood loss(MD=-235.59
95%CI=-453.31 to-17.86
P=0.03)
and did not increase the incidence of complications(OR=0.94
95%CI=0.61 to 1.45
P=0.790). Conclusion:Fibrin glue is effective in TKA without increasing the risk of complications.
