Vulvar lichen sclerosus(VLS)is a chronic inflammatory disease relating to genital skin and mucosa. There are many factors such as autoimmune
genetic
hormonal and infection factors associated with paroxysm
but its etiology is still unclear.Ultra-potent topical corticosteroids(TCSs)are the first-line treatment for VLS.Focused ultrasound is widely used in clinic
and has obtained satisfactory clinical efficacy. As it is difficult to treat VLS
all kinds of treatment have the possibility of recurrence. In recent years
many new researches on the etiology and pathogenesis of VLS have been proposed and many new treatments have been put forward at the same time. This paper reviews the research progress of VLS.
