Efficacy of 1 540 nm non-ablative fractional laser combined with botulinum toxin type A in improvement of periorbital skin aging
Objectives:To observe the clinical efficacy of 1 540 nm non-ablative fractional laser combined with botulinum toxin type A in improvement of periorbital skin aging. Methods:Totally 186 patients were randomly divided into three groups. Patients in combined treatment group(62 cases) and injection control group(62 cases) were injected botulinum toxin A for one time. After two weeks
124 cases including those in combined treatment group and laser control group were taken 1 540 nm non-ablative fractional laser for3 times
with interval of 4 weeks. Follow-up was conducted for 6 weeks after the first treatment. Subjective and objective assessment on the periorbital dynamic and static wrinkles were made by doctors and cosmetic patients. Results:The periorbital skin aging of three groups were all improved. The improvement was more obvious in combined group than in laser control group at 4 weeks after the first treatment
while no significant difference was found between combined group and injection control group. After 26 weeks of the first treatment
the improvement was more obvious in combined group than in injection control group
and no significant difference was found between combined group and laser control group. Conclusion:Combination of non-ablative 1 540 nm fractional laser and botulinum toxin type A is effective and safe in the treatment of periorbital skin aging.
