Asymptomatic hypercholanaemia of pregnancy identification based on metabolic profiling of urinary sulfated bile acid
Objective:To investigate the feasibility of metabolic profiling of urinary sulfated bile acid in intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy(ICP) identification. Methods:High performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(HPLC-MS/MS) was employed to determinate urinary sulfated bile acids in 13 healthy pregnant women and 17 patients with ICP. Multiple scanning modes were used to identify and analyze possible sulfated bile acids in urine. Datas were analyzed by principle component analysis(PCA).Results:Fifteen possible urinary sulfated bile acids were identified and analyzed by multiple scanning modes. The PCA results showed that the existence of a special crowd in ICP group whose symptoms were elevated bile acids with normal liver function. While the changes in matabolic profiling of urinary sulfated bile acids in asymptomatic hypercholanaemia of pregnancy were resembled those described in healthy pregnant women. Conclusion:Metabolic profiling analysis of urinary sulfated bile acid is helpful for identification of asymptomatic hypercholanaemia of pregnancy.
