Amputation of submandibular preganglionic parasympathetic fibers in the treatment of primary sialorrhea
Objective:To investigate the therapeutic effect of amputation of submandibular preganglionic parasympathetic fibers on primary sialorrhea. Methods:One-side submandibular preganglionic parasympathetic fibers amputation was performed on 31 patients with primary sialorrhea in our hospital from January 2010 to January 2013. Preoperative and postoperative static total saliva flow rate and subjective symptoms of sialorrhea were detected and recorded and the occurrences and complications were followed up. Results:Within 15-39 months follow-up
the objectively evaluated efficiency was 96.78%(30/31)while the subjectively evaluated efficiency was 93.55%(29/31)by the 31 patients. No recurrence and no complication occurred. Conclusion:Amputation of submandibular preganglionic parasympathetic fibers is a simple
