Methods for implantation of cardiovascular implantable electronic devices via cephalic vein
The cephalic vein is a classic approach for the implantation of cardiovascular implantable electronic devices (CIED), which can avoid complications such as pneumothorax, accidental artery puncture, electrode compression and fracture caused by the subclavian vein approach. The anatomy of the cephalic vein is complex with constant course and rare variation, and as the preferred venous approach for the implantation of CIED, it is of great clinical significance to understand its anatomical structure. The technology of implanting CIED via cephalic vein is improving year by year, so this article summarizes the anatomy of cephalic vein and methods of implanting CIED via cephalic vein in recent years, in order to provide reference for the selection of preoperative venous approach.
