The relationship between urinary type Ⅳ collagen and diabetic nephropathy in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients
Objective: To investigate the change of urinary type Ⅳ collagen(CⅣ)level in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. Methods: The level of urinary CⅣ
UAE and α1-MG was measured by radioimmunoassay (RIA) in 72 diabetic patients and 30 controls. Results: Urinary CⅣ in 72 diabetic patients was significantly increased. As compared with controls
urinary CⅣ was markedly higher in type 2 diabetic patients with normal albuminuria. Urinary CⅣ level was different in three groups
and increased with UAE.There was positive correlation between urinary CⅣ level and UAE
α1-MG
duration
sBP
HbA1c. Conclusion: The present findings suggest that measurement of urinary CⅣ is useful for the detection of early diabetic nephropathy.
