Comparison of the diagnostic value of ultrasound and X-ray for renal tuberculosis and analysis of the causes of misdiagnosis of ultrasound
Objective: To assess the diagnotic value of ultrasound and X-ray for renal tuberculosis(RTB) and analyse the causes of misdiagnosis of ultrasound for RTB. Methods: We retrospectively studied the results of ultrasonography and X-ray of 58 patients with RTB (62 lesions)confirmed pathologically. Results: The ultrasonogram of RTB was complicated and nephrohydrosis (41.07%) and nephrohydrosis with nephrolithiasis (21.43%) were the major appearance. The correct diagnosis rate (CDR) of ultrasound was lower than that of X-ray (P<0.05). However
when compared it with that of APF plus IVP
PTP or RP
CT
respcectivly
there were no significant differences (P>0.05). Conclusion: The diversity of ultrasonogram and the neglect of the medical history are the major causes of misdiagnosis in ultrasound for RTB.
