Imaging study of MRI-guided high intensity focused ultrasound damage of liver tissues in vitro
Objective:To observe the liver tissue in vitro damaged by high intensity focused ultrasound(HIFU)using MRI
and evaluate the validity and accuracy of MRI-guided treatment. Methods:Calf liver tissues in vitro were exposed to MRI-guided HIFU with different intensity and duration. The lesions on MRI imaging were compared with the actual necrotic foci.Results:60 lesion images were inspected
50 lesions(83.3%)on T2WI and PDWI had low signals with clear border
and the lesion area on T2WI and PDWI highly correlated with the actual necrotic area(P>0.05).But only 23 lesions(38.3%)showed high signal on T1WI.Conclusion:This research confirmed the MRI-guided HIFU equipment is useful to monitor the HIFU treatment and evaluate the curative effect accurately
which provids a basis for the latter treatment of liver tumors.
