The clinical efficacy and safety of TUERP and TKRP for the treatment of high-risk BPH patients
Objective:To assess the clinical efficacy and safety of transurethral enucleative resection of prostate(TUERP)and transurethral plasma kinetic resection of the prostate(TKRP)for treatment of high risk patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia. Methods:The surgical procedures of sixty-seven cases with high-risk BPH were analyzed retrospectively. The operation time
bleeding
resected tissue weight
the mean bladder irrigating time
complications
international prostate symptom score(IPSS)
quality of life score(QOL)
maximum flow rate(Qmax)
and postvoid residua(PVR) were compared.Results:31 cases and 36 cases were performed by the methods of TUERP and TKRP respectively. There was no significant difference of preoperative factors between the two groups(P >0.05).IPSS QOL Qmax and RVR were improved in the two groups after the operation(P<0.01)
and there showed no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).The operation time
bleeding
the mean bladder irrigating time
and hospital stay were significant shorter in PUERP than in TKRP(P<0.05).The prostate resection rate in TUERP was higher than in TKRP(P<0.05).Conclusion:There is no difference in efficiency between two groups
but TUERP has advantages in operation time
bleeding
hospital stay
the mean bladder irrigating time and complications
