Cohort and individual results consistency analysis by different hematology analyzers
Objective To compare the consistency between cohort-level and individual-level of two hematology analyzers based on a large sample
and to explore the association between the consistency and individual differences in age and gender factors. Methods A total of 1 024 fresh whole blood samples were collected. The 24 routine blood parameters were measured by Sysmex XT-1800i automatic hematology analyzer and Sysmex XN-10 [B3] automatic modular hematology fluid analyzer. The data were statistically analyzed using R 4.1.2. Results There were significant differences in the results of 10 parameters between the two blood routine analyzers(all P<0.001). After adjusting for sex effects
15 of these two hematologyanalyzer parameters were correlated with age(all P<0.001). At the same time
there were sex differences in 8 of these two indicators detected by the hematology analyzer(all P<0.001). In addition
after adjusting for age effects
one of the indicators tested by Sysmex XT-1800i was associated with gender(P<0.001); three of the indicators tested by Sysmex XN-10 [B3] were associated with gender(all P<0.001). Individualized consistency across all samples was 0.9 985±0.0 036. There was no significant correlation between individualized consistency and age(r=-0.0090
P=0.7747)
but a gender difference was observed in individualized consistency in this individual(P=1.8565e-04)
and individualized consistency was greater in men than in women. Conclusion Mean differences exist in routine blood test results among different equipment in the same population
with high consistency in individual test results and gender differences in this individual consistency.
