Effect of pregnancy, delivery, and pelvic floor muscle exercise on pelvic floor function assessed by pelvic floor ultrasound
and pelvic floor muscle exercise on pelvic floor function assessed by pelvic floor ultrasound. Methods The clinical data of 86 maternal women who underwent prenatal examination
delivery
and postpartum rehabilitation in the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University from October 2018 to April 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. A total of 43 parturients who received routine pregnancy guidance were selected as controls
and 43 parturients who received pelvic floor muscle exercise guidance after delivery were assigned to the observation group. Pelvic floor ultrasound was performed in the 8th week after delivery in the two groups
and the results of pelvic floor structure ultrasonography
pelvic floor function and the occurrence of stress urinary incontinence(SUI) were compared between the two groups. Results The pelvic floor muscle strength grade of parturients in the observation group was better than that in the control group
and the difference was statistically significant(U=2.719
P=0.007). The rectal ampulla descent(RAD)
bladder neck descent(BND) and cervical orifice descent(CD) in the observation group were lower than those in the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The resting posterior bladder angle
Valsalva posterior bladder angle
and urethral rotation angle of parturients in the observation group were smaller than those in the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The area of levator ani hiatus in the observation group was smaller than that in the control group
and the anteroposterior diameter and left and right diameters were shorter than those in the control group
with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). The incidence rate of stress urinary incontinence(SUI) in the observation group was 4.65%(2/43)
which was lower than that in the control group(27.91%
12/43)
and the difference was statistically significant(χ~2=8.532
P=0.003). Conclusion Pelvic floor function can be assessed by pelvic floor ultrasonography after delivery
which provides a reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment. Pelvic floor muscle exercise can effectively maintain pelvic floor structure and function
improve pelvic floor muscle strength and reduce the risk of SUI.
