Clinical observation of hysteroscopic electroresection combined with drospirenone ethinylestradiol II in treating endometrial polyps
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of hysteroscopic electroresection combined with drospirenone ethinylestradiol II in the treatment of endometrial polyps(EP)
in order to provide guidance for clinical treatment. Methods A total of 106 patients with EP admitted to the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of Xiping Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2019 to December 2020 were selected as the study subjects. The patients were allocated to the experimental group and the control group by the random number table
with 53 cases in each group. Patients in the control group received hysteroscopic electroresection
and patients in the experimental group received postoperative oral drospirenone ethinylestradiol II in addition to the treatment in the control group. The levels of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)
estradiol(E2)
luteinizing hormone(LH)
follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH)
endometrial thickness and menstrual volume were compared between the two groups before treatment and at 9 weeks after treatment. The incidence and recurrence of adverse reactions at 9 weeks of treatment were compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment
there was no significant difference in endometrial thickness
menstrual volume and VEGF level between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment
endometrial thickness
menstrual volume
and VEGF level were all lower than those before treatment in the two groups
with endometrial thickness
menstrual volume
and VEGF level in the experimental group lower than that in the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Before treatment
there was no significant difference in LH
FSH
and VEGF levels between the two groups(P>0.05). After treatment
LH and FSH levels in the two groups were lower than those before treatment
with E2 level higher than that before treatment. The LH and FSH levels in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group
and the E2 level was higher than that in the control group
with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). The incidence and recurrence rate of adverse reactions in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P <0.05). Conclusion Hysteroscopic resection combined with drospirenone ethinylestradiol II in the treatment of EP can inhibit endometrial hyperplasia
and improve menstrual volume and sex hormone levels
with ideal clinical effect and high safety profile. These benefits hold much promise for the wider application of this procedure clinically.
