Investigation on influenza vaccination willingness and influencing factors of parents in preventive healthcare clinic of a hospital under COVID-19
Objective To investigate the willingness of parents to receive influenza vaccination in a preventive healthcare clinic of a hospital under COVID-19 and analyze the influencing factors. Methods A total of 310 parents who visited the preventive healthcare clinic of a hospital in Henan Province from September to December 2020 were selected via random sampling. A questionnaire on influenza vaccination willingness was issued
and the data were collected for statistical analysis. Results A total of 80.65% of respondents expressed willingness to vaccinate their children against influenza. Univariate analysis showed that there were significant differences in influenza vaccination willingness among respondents with different conditions such as worrying about vaccine side effects
vaccine protection
expensive costs
and unfamiliarity with the vaccine(all P<0.05). Logistic regression results indicated that worrying about vaccine side effects and vaccine protection
expensive costs
and unfamiliarity with vaccines were all influencing factors of influenza vaccination willingness in respondents(all P<0.05). Conclusion Parents have a higher willingness to vaccinate their children against influenza under COVID-19
but they are still affected by the side effects
protective effect
price
and their own cognition of the vaccine. Therefore
strengthening the safety management of vaccines and the publicity of vaccine knowledge can raise the willingness for vaccination.
