Objective To investigate the effect of Bailing capsule combined with candesartan in the treatment of diabetic glomerulosclerosis. Methods A total of 200 patients with diabetic glomerulosclerosis admitted to a hospital in Henan Province from January 2020 to February 2021 were selected as subjects. They were assigned to an observation group and a control group via the random number table method

with 100 cases in each group. Patients in the control group received candesartan

and patients in the observation group Bailing capsule orally on top of the candesartan. The therapeutic efficacy and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups; the diastolic blood pressure（DBP） and systolic blood pressure（SBP） before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. The TCM syndrome scale scores

high-sensitivity C-reactive protein（hs-CRP）

transforming growth factor β1（TGF-β1）

and serum amyloid A（SAA） protein levels were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results The total effective rate of treatment for patients in the observation group was 91%

which was higher than that of the control group（78%）

and the difference was statistically significant（P<0.05）. After treatment

DBP and SBP in both groups’ levels were lower than those before treatment

and the observation group was lower than the control group

with statistically significant differences（P<0.05）. Before treatment

there was no statistically significant difference in the scores of dry throat and thirst

with statistically significant differences（P<0.05）. Conclusion Bailing capsule in combination with candesartan is effective in treating diabetic glomerulosclerosis

which can improve the therapeutic effect and microinflammatory state with good safety. These benefits justify a wider application of this technique clinically.
