Application of comprehensive rehabilitation care in elderly patients with chronic heart failure
Objective To explore the application of comprehensive rehabilitation care in elderly patients with chronic heart failure. Methods A total of 108 elderly patients with chronic heart failure admitted to a hospital in Luoyang City from March 2020 to September 2021 were selected and assigned to an experimental group(n=54) and a control group(n=54) using the random number table method. Patients in the control group received routine rehabilitation care
and patients in the experimental group comprehensive rehabilitation care in addition to the routine rehabilitation. The cardiac reserve function
vascular endothelial function
pulmonary function
exercise tolerance
heart failure recurrence rate
and Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire(MLHFQ) scores of the patients in the 2 groups were compared. Results The left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)
and left ventricular end-diastolic volume(LVEDV) of patients in the experimental group were greater than those in the control group after the intervention
and the differences were statistically significant(P <0.05). Patients in the experimental group showed higher nitric oxide(NO) levels and lower angiotensin Ⅱ(Ang Ⅱ)
endothelin-1(ET-1) levels
and left ventricular end-systolic volume(LVESV)
than those in the control group after the intervention
and the differences were all statistically significant(P<0.05). The maximal voluntary ventilation(MVV)
maximal vital capacity(VCmax)
anaerobic threshold(AT)
and peak oxygen uptake(VO2peak) in the experimental group were all greater than those in the control group after the intervention
and the differences were all statistically significant(P<0.05). The arrival time of exercise endpoint and 6 min walk test distance in the experimental group were greater than those in the control group after the intervention
maximum heart rate in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group after the intervention
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The heart failure recurrence rate of patients in the experimental group was 7.41%
which was lower than that in the control group(27.78%)
and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). The MLHFQ score of patients in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group in all domains after the intervention
and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion The application of comprehensive rehabilitation care in elderly patients with chronic heart failure can improve vascular endothelial function and cardiopulmonary function
