Efficacy analysis of Yu Ping Feng granules combined with fluticasone propionate in the treatment of bronchial asthma in school-aged children
Objective To investigate the efficacy of Yu Ping Feng granules combined with fluticasone propionate in the treatment of bronchial asthma in school-aged children and the effects on the levels of eosinophils(EOS) and interleukin-17(IL-17) in the children. Methods A total of 90 children with bronchial asthma admitted to a hospital in Shangqiu City from March 2019 to March 2021 were selected as subjects and assigned to observation and control groups using a simple randomized grouping method
with 45 cases in each group. Subjects in the control group were treated with fluticasone propionate
and subjects in the observation group with Yu Ping Feng granules in combination with fluticasone propionate
and subjects in both groups were treated for 2 weeks. The clinical efficacy and time to relief of clinical symptoms of the children in the two groups were compared. The pulmonary function indexes [forced expiratory volume in 1 s(FEV

)
peak expiratory flow(PEF) value
forced expiratory flow in 75% of forced vital capacity(FEF

)
Maximal midexpiratory flow between 75 and 25% of forced vital capacity(MMEF

)] and EOS
high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)
and IL-17 levels of the children in the two groups were compared. The occurrence of adverse effects during treatment in the 2 groups of children was compared. Results The total effective rate of treatment for the children in the observation group was 91.11%
which was higher than that of the control group(75.56%)(χ~2=3.920
P=0.048). The children in the observation group had shorter wheezing
lung moist rale and cough relief time than those in the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P
<
0.05). The levels of FEV

FEF

and MMEF

in the children in the observation group after treatment were higher than those in the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P
<
0.05). The levels of EOS
hs-CRP and IL-17 in the children in the observation group after treatment were lower than those in the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P
<
0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions during treatment was 6.66%in the children in the observation group
which was lower than that in the control group(8.88%)
and the difference was not statistically significant(P
>
0.05). Conclusion Yu Ping Feng granules in combination with fluticasone propionate can significantly improve the clinical efficacy
enhance the lung function and reduce the inflammatory response in school-aged children with bronchial asthma in a safe manner. These advantages justify a wider application of this therapy clinically.
