Intervention effect of medical diet nutrition combined with exercise therapy on childhood obesity
Objective To investigate the intervention effect of medical diet nutrition combined with exercise therapy on childhood obesity. Methods A total of 100 obese children who visited the Department of Child Nutrition and Feeding of a hospital in Puyang City from January 2017 to January 2021 were selected as subjects
and assigned to a control group and an observation group by random number table method
with 50 cases in each group. The patients in the control group received exercise therapy combined with conventional diet intervention
while the patients in the observation group received exercise therapy combined with medical diet nutrition intervention(including the formulation of an individualized balanced diet plan
behavior modification
and nutrition therapy). Both groups received continuous intervention for 6 months. The improvement of body mass index(BMI) and body fat
blood lipid indexes [triglyceride(TG)
total cholesterol(TC)
low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)]
and obesity-related risks were compared between the two groups. Results After the intervention
the BMI and fat percentage of the two groups were lower than those before the intervention
and the observation group was lower than the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the intervention
the levels of TC
TG and LDL-C in the two groups were lower than those before the intervention
and the observation group was lower than the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of obesity-related risk in the observation group during the intervention was 2.00%
which was lower than that in the control group(14.00%)
and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Medical diet nutrition in combination with exercise therapy can effectively improve BMI
fat percentage and blood lipid indexes in children with obesity
