Effects of nursing intervention based on the information-motivation-behavioral skills model on exercise compliance and shoulder joint function of postoperative breast cancer patients
Objective To explore the effects of nursing intervention based on the information-motivation-behavioral skills model on the exercise compliance and shoulder joint function of postoperative breast cancer patients. Methods Two hundred breast cancer patients admitted to a hospital in Changsha from January 2019 to May 2020 were selected for the study. A random number table was used to divide the patients into the study group and the control group
with 100 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were given conventional care
and patients in the study group were given nursing intervention based on the information-motivation-behavioral skills model on the basis of the control group. A self-administered exercise compliance evaluation scale was used to assess the exercise compliance of the two groups of patients at the time of discharge. The self-rating nxiety scale(SAS)
self-rating depression scale(SDS)
and quality of life(QOL) of the 2 groups were compared before the interve ntion and at discharye. Results Patients in the study group had higher exercise time
exercise frequency
and exercise accuracy scores than the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Before the intervention
there was no statistically significant difference between the SAS
SDS and QOL scores of patients in the 2 groups(P >0.05). At the time of discharge
the SAS and SDS scores of patients in the 2 groups were lower than before the intervention
and those in the study group were lower than those in the control group
with statistically significant differences(P <0.05). At discharge
the QOL scores of patients in both groups were higher than before the intervention
and that in the study group was higher than that in the control group
with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion The nursing intervention based on the information-motivation-behavioral skills model can improve the exercise compliance of postoperative breast cancer patients
improve their shoulder joint function
reduce their negative emotions and improve their quality of life
and it is worthy of wider clinical application.
