Effects of targeted nursing on psychological status, urinary function and overall recuperation of patients with cervical cancer
Objective To explore the effects of targeted nursing on the psychological status
urinary function and overall recuperation of patients with cervical cancer. Methods Seventy-two cases of cervical cancer patients admitted to a hospital in Zhumadian from May 2017 to May 2021 were enrolled and divided into observation and control groups using a random number table
36 cases in each group.Patients in both groups were treated with radical cervical cancer surgery;patients in the control group were given conventional care
and patients in the observation group were given targeted nursing on the basis of the control group. The Beck Anxiety Inventory(BAI) scores
Beck Depression Inventory-21(BDI-21) scores
coping strategies
and self-care ability were compared between the two groups before and after the intervention. Results After the intervention
the BAI and BDI-21 scores were lower than those before the intervention in both groups and lower in the observation group than in the control group
with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The scores for the dimensions of confrontation and seeking support in the Jalowiec coping scale were higher in the 2 groups than before the intervention and higher in the observation group than in the control group
and the those for the dimensions of appeasement and avoidance were lower than before the intervention and lower in the observation group than in the control group
all with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The scores for self-conception
self-care responsibility
self-care skills
and health knowledge in the Exercise of Self-care Agency(ESCA) scale were higher in both groups than before the intervention and higher in the observation group than in the control group
with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The residual urine volume of the patients in the observation group was less than that in the control group
and the time to resume voluntary urination
duration of catheterization and hospitalization time were all shorter than those in the control group
with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The incidence of urinary retention
urinary tract infection and urinary tract irritation signs were lower in the observation group than in the control group
and the differences were all statistically significant(P<0.05).The nursing complaint rate
nursing dispute rate and nursing error rate of the observation group were all lower than those of the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Targeted nursing care for cervical cancer patients can improve their psychological status
coping strategies
and self-care ability
as well as improve urinary function and promote overall recuperation
with low complication rate and high nursing quality.
