Effect of conti nuing care based on We Chat platform on the quality of life of patients with prostatic hyperplasia after discharge from hospital
Objective To explore the impact of continuing care based on the We Chat platform on the quality of life of patients with prostatic hyperplasia undergoing surgery after discharge. Methods Eighty-six patients with prostatic hyperplasia treated by transurethral resection of the prostate admitted to a hospital in Zhumadian from March 2019 to October 2020 were selected and divided into a control group and an observation group using the random number table method
with 43 cases in each group. Patients in the control group received conventional postoperative care
while patients in the observation group were given continuing postoperative care based on the We Chat platform. The quality of life and urinary incontinence of the patients in the 2 groups before and after care were compared. Results Before care
there was no statistically significant difference between the SF-36 scores of patients in the 2 groups(P>0.05); after care
the SF-36 scores of patients in the 2 groups were higher than before care
and the observation group was higher than the control group
with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). The incidence of urinary incontinence was 6.98%(3/43) in the observation group
which was lower than that of 23.26%(10/43) in the control group
and the difference was statistically significant(χ~2=4.440
P=0.035); the degree of incontinence was lighter in the observation group than in the control group
and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05). Conclusion Continuing care based on the We Chat platform can effectively improve the quality of life of patients with prostatic hyperplasia after discharge
reduce the occurrence of urinary incontinence and mitigate the degree of incontinence.
