Effects of nursing intervention based on Levin’s conservation model on the neurological function and negative emotions in patients with acute cerebral infarction
Objective To explore the effect of nursing intervention based on Levin’s conservation model on the neurological function and negative emotions in patients with acute cerebral infarction. Methods Ninety-two patients with acute cerebral infarction admitted to a hospital in Nanyang City from February 2019 to February 2020 were selected as study subjects and divided into control and observation groups using the random number table method
with 46 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were given conventional nursing intervention
and patients in the observation group were given nursing intervention based on Levin’s conservation model on its basis
and both groups received continuous intervention for 4 weeks. The Chinese Stroke Scale(CSS)
FuglMeyer Assessment(FMA)
Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS)
Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS) and Modified Barthel Index(MBI) scores of both groups were compared before and after the intervention
and the patients’ satisfaction with care and self-management ability were compared. Results Before the intervention
there was no statistically significant difference between the CSS
FMA and MBI scores of the two groups(P>0.05); after the intervention
the CSS scores of the two groups were lower than before the intervention
and the observation group was lower than the control group
with statistically significant differences(P<0.05); after the intervention
the FMA and MBI scores of the two groups were higher than before the intervention
and the observation group was higher than the control group
with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). Before the intervention
there was no statistically significant difference between the SDS and SAS scores of patients in the 2 groups(P>0.05); after the intervention
the SDS and SAS scores of patients in the 2 groups were lower than before the intervention
and lower in the observation group than in the control group
with statistically significant differences(P<0.05). After the intervention
the scores of indexes related to self-management ability of patients in the observation group were higher than those in the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05); the total satisfaction with nursing care in the observation group was 82.61%
higher than that of 54.35% in the control group
and the difference statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion Nursing intervention based on Levin’s conservation model can effectively improve the neurological function of patients with acute cerebral infarction
relieve negative emotions
and improve their self-management ability and satisfaction.
