Application of 7S management mode in reducing the incidence of delirium in patients with EICU
Objective To explore the effect of 7S management mode in reducing the incidence of delirium in emergency intensive care unit(EICU).Methods A total of 96 patients who were hos pi tali zed in EICU from January 2019 to December 2020 in a hospital in Henan Province were randomly divided into control group(n=46) and observation group(n=50).The patients in the control group were treated with routine nursing intervention and the patients in the observation group were intervened with 7S management mode. The situation of ward management
adverse events incidence
nursing satisfaction and cognitive function before and after intervention were compared between the two groups. Results The rates of reaching the standard of ward organization
dressing change management
toilet management and training management in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P
<
0.05).The incidences of delirium
fall
unplanned extubation and administration errors in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P
<
0.05).After nursing
the score of mini-mental state examination(MMSE) in the observation group was higher than that in the control group
while the score of Montreal cognitive assessment scale(MoCA) in the observation group was lower than that in the control group
and the difference was statistically significant(P
<
0.05).The nursing satisfaction of patients in the observation group was 98.00 %
which was higher than that in the control group(84.78 %)
and the difference was statistically significant(χ
2
=3.886
P=0.049).Conclusion The application of 7S management mode could help to reduce the incidence of delirium in patients in EICU
improve patients’ cognitive function and nursing satisfaction.
