Objective To investigate the prognostic value of serum uric acid（UA） and uric acid/creatinine（UA/Cr） levels in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease（AECOPD）. Methods One hundred and fifty patients with AECOPD admitted to a hospital in Liaoning Province from February 2018 to February 2021 were selected and set into a death group（n=90） and a survival group（n=60） according to the patients’ prognosis. Multi-factor logistic regression was used to analyze the risk factors affecting patients’ prognosis

and ROC curves were used to analyze the value of serum UA and UA/Cr levels in assessing prognosis. Results The levels of UA

CRP and WBC in patients with AECOPD with different prognosis showed statistically significant differences（P<0.05）. Logistic regression analysis showed that serum UA and UA/Cr levels were independent risk factors affecting the prognosis of patients with AECOPD. ROC curve analysis showed that the AUC of serum UA level to assess the prognosis of AECOPD patients was 0.731（95% CI:0.651-0.810

and the AUC of UA/Cr to assess the prognosis of AECOPD patients was 0.744（95% CI: 0.662-0.826

P<0.05）. Conclusion Serum UA and UA/Cr levels are of high value in assessing the prognosis of patients with AECOPD

and clinical monitoring of these indicators needs to be strengthened to improve patient prognosis.
