Clinical application of coenzyme Q10 in the treatment of hypertension in hemodialysis patients
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of applying coenzyme Q10 in the treatment of hypertension in hemodialysis patients. Methods Sixty patients with hypertension on maintenance hemodialysis admitted to a hospital in Liaoning Province from October 2017 to October 2019 were selected and divided into a control group(n=28) and an observation group(n=32) using the random number table method.Patients in the control group were given conventional treatment
and patients in the observation group were treated with coenzyme Q10 on the basis of the control group. The efficacy and changes in oxidative stress level and blood pressure before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of treatment for patients in the observation group was 93.75 %(30/32)
which was higher than that in the control group at 75.00%(21/28)
and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Before treatment
there was no statistically significant difference between the mean systolic blood pressure and mean diastolic blood pressure of patients in the2 groups(P>0.05);after treatment
the mean systolic blood pressure and mean diastolic blood pressure of patients in the 2 groups were lower than before treatment
and they were lower in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).Before treatment
there was no statistically significant difference between the levels of GSH-Px
SOD
MDA and reactive oxygen species in the 2 groups(P>0.05);after treatment
USH-Px was higher than before treatment and higher in the observation group than in the control group
while MDA and reactive oxygen species were lower than before treatment and lower in the observation group than in the control group
and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);after treatment
SOD levels in the observation group were higher than those before treatment and higher than those in the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05)
while the differences were not statistically significant(P>0.05) when comparing SOD levels before and after treatment in the control group. Conclusion Coenzyme Q10 helps to improve oxidative stress and blood pressure levels in hemodialysis patients with high blood pressure with good effect.
