Objective:To analyze and explore the medication ideas of Xin’an medical practitioner Ye Xijun embodied in East Mountain Villa Basis by data mining

and to develop the modern clinical medication thinking.Methods:We collected and summarized the prescription drugs in East Mountain Villa Basis by Ye Xijun

conducted frequency statistics of drugs clinically used by Ye using Office 2010

and performed association rule analysis and cluster analysis using Apriori algorithm in IBM SPSS Modeler 14.1 and IBM SPSS 22.0

respectively

to extract Ye’s main medication ideas.Results:Among the 328 prescriptions collected

278 drugs were involved

and they were used a total of 3490 times.The drugs used were mainly of cold nature and sweet taste and mostly entered the spleen（stomach）meridian.The three most frequently used drugs were tangerine peel

Poria cocos

and snakegourd peel.The analysis of common drug combinations suggested 20 combinations including Poria cocos/tangerine peel and tangerine peel/Rhizoma Pinelliae Praeparatum.The cluster analysis suggested 12 drug combinations including Radix Paeoniae Rubra/Forsythia suspensa/Artemisia capillaris and Radix Puerariae/chrysanthemum.Binomial and trinomial association rule analyses of the 39 most frequently used drugs suggested 14 and 11 combinations

respectively.Conclusion:Ye’s clinical practice emphasizes strengthening the spleen and stomach to protect the acquired foundation

excels in clearing lung heat and moistening lung dryness to treat febrile diseases and lung diseases

emphasizes the passage of Qi to dispel the evil of phlegm and dampness

and excels in elucidating the pathogenesis of disease from the aspect of violation or reverse restriction in five elements and treating the disease accordingly.
