Effect of oral liquid of Rosa roxburghii Tratt and Crataegus pinnatifida on the lipid metabolism and LPL gene in patients with hyperlipidemic pancreatitis
Objective: To investigate the effect of oral liquid of Rosa roxburghii Tratt and Crataegus pinnatifida on the lipid metabolism and lipoprotein lipase(LPL) gene expression in patients with hyperlipidemic acute pancreatitis(HAP). Methods: A total of 60 patients with HAP who attended Department of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery in our hospital from December 2017 to December 2018 were enrolled and divided into control group and experimental group
with 30 patients in each group. The patients in the control group received routine treatments such as fasting
gastrointestinal decompression
inhibition of pancreatic enzyme secretion
anti-acid therapy
and anti-infective therapy
and those in the experimental group were given refined oral liquid of Rosa roxburghii Tratt and Crataegus pinnatifida in addition to the treatment in the control group. After 2 weeks of treatment
serum levels of total cholesterol(TC)
triglyceride(TG)
high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)
and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) were measured to evaluate the antihyperlipidemic effect of Rosa roxburghii Tratt and Crataegus pinnatifida in patients with HAP. Quantitative real-time PCR was used to measure the mRNA expression of LPL in liver tissue
and Western blot was used to measure the protein expression of LPL
so as to explore the antihyperlipidemic mechanism of the oral liquid of Rosa roxburghii Tratt and Crataegus pinnatifida. Results:Both groups had significant changes in serum TC
TG
HDL-C
and LDL-C after treatment(P < 0.05). Compared with the control group
the experimental group had significant increases in the mRNA and protein expression of LPL in liver tissue(t = 3.791
P = 0.006). Conclusion:Oral liquid of Rosa roxburghii Tratt and Crataegus pinnatifida can effectively regulate the expression of LPL gene in patients with HAP and thus delay the progression of pancreatitis.
