Application of mutual aid information support in patients receiving assisted reproductive technology for infertility
Objective To explore the effects of mutual aid information support intervention on cycle self-management
self-efficacy and treatment compliance in patients receiving assisted reproductive technology for infertility. Methods One hundred and twenty-eight infertility patients treated with assisted reproductive technology admitted to a hospital in Liaoning Province from April 2018 to April 2020 were selected for the study and divided into an observation and a control groups using a random number table
with 64 cases in each group. Patients in the control group were given conventional nursing interventions
while patients in the observation group were given mutual aid information support intervention besides conventional nursing; the cycle self-management ability
self-efficacy and treatment compliance before and after the intervention were compared between the two groups. Results Before the intervention
there was no statistically significant difference between the GSES scores of the two groups(P>0.05); after the intervention
the GSES scores of the two groups were higher than before the intervention
those of the observation group were higher than those of the control group
and the differenced were statistically significant(P <0.05). Before the intervention
there was no statistically significant difference between the scores for self-management ability in the 2 groups(P>0.05); after the intervention
the scores for self-management ability in the 2 groups were higher than before the intervention
those in the observation group were higher than those in the control group
and the differenced were statistically significant(P<0.05). The overall compliance rate of patients in the observation group was 92.19%(59/64)
higher than the 76.56%(49/64) in the control group
and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=5.926
P=0.015). Conclusion Mutual aid information support care interventions for infertility patients treated with assisted reproductive technology is beneficial to improve patients’ cycle self-management ability
self-efficacy
and treatment compliance.
