Specialized care quality index monitoring in the postoperative functional exercise of elderly hip fracture patients
Objective To explore the effectiveness of specialized care quality index monitoring in the postoperative functional exercise of elderly hip fracture patients. Methods Thirty-six elderly hip fracture patients admitted in January-June 2019 in a hospital in Chongqing were selected as the control group
and 40 elderly hip fracture pa-tients admitted in July-December 2019 were selected as the observation group. Patients in the control group were given routine postoperative care and instructed to start functional exercise as soon as possible; patients in the ob-servation group
based on the control group and adopting the concept of fast-track surgery
were given postopera-tive monitoring of care quality indexes
which were perfected and applied clinically
and data analysis and continu-ous quality improvement were carried out regularly. The two groups were compared in terms of daily life per-formance
hip function
and Berg Balance Scale scores at admission and one month after discharge from the hos-pital. Results The compliance rate of functional rehabilitation exercise increased day by day
which was 32.5% within 24 hours after awakening from anesthesia
40.0% on postoperative days 1 to 2
47.5% on postoperative day 3
52.5% on postoperative day 4
57.5% on postoperative day 5
62.5% on postoperative days 6 to 7
and 85.0% on postoperative week 2. At admission
the difference between the two groups in daily life performance was not statistically significant(P>0.05); the scores of daily life performance in the two groups were higher one month after discharge from the hospital than at admission. The scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). At admission
the differ-ence between the two groups in the scores of hip functions was not statistically significant(P>0.05); the scores of hip functions in the two groups were higher one month after discharge from the hospital than at admission. The scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group
and the differences were statisti-cally significant(P<0.05). At admission
the difference between the two groups in Berg Balance Scale scores was not statistically significant(P >0.05); the Berg Balance Scale scores in the two groups were higher one month after discharge from the hospital than at admission. The scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion The applica-tion of functional exercise compliance rate can objectively and comprehensively evaluate the nursing care quality of postoperative functional exercise in elderly hip fracture patients
guide nurses to grasp the nursing care priorities
and help improve the effect of postoperative functional exercise and the quality of life of patients.
